Offer a forgotten or unused instrument one final resonance: that of the theatre!

Give this great hidden musical resource a new life by allowing these instruments to sound again as part of my new music theater piece Civil Twilight.

As part of the upcoming creation Civil Twilight by Ari Benjamin Meyers with Ensemble Contrechamps, we are looking for musical instruments of all kinds (winds, strings, brass, percussion, guitars, keyboards, electronic etc.).
These instruments are ideallystillplayable, but brokenones or even parts of instruments are gladdlyaccepted. The donatedinstruments will play a majorrole in the show, and maybedamaged, they thereforecannotbereturned to you and will begiven the opportunity to playtheir final notes for the audience.
How to take part?
You can drop off the instrument or instruments you would like to donate:
- Lausanne: at the administrative reception of Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne (Av. Emile-Henri-Jaques-Dalcroze 5, 1007 Lausanne), Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
OR
- Geneva: at the Contrechamps offices (8 Rue de la Coulouvrenière, 1204 Geneva) on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
If possible, please include a short note telling us your instrument’s story:
Where does it come from? Who used to play it? How long have you had it? Who gave it to you? Where are any other parts or pieces that may belong to it?
A few memories or anecdotes are all it takes. We would be delighted to discover the lives these instruments have had before taking to the stage.

Civil Twilight (Crépuscule Civil) — what is it?
An open-air performance for six musicians, set against an exceptional urban landscape. An experience to be lived at dusk, where music, landscape and light come together.
From 10 to 13 June 2026, at civil twilight — that suspended moment between day and night — Civil Twilight will take over a site near the theater.
At the helm of this new open-air creation: New York-based artist, composer and director Ari Benjamin Meyers, Contrechamps, the internationally acclaimed contemporary music ensemble from French-speaking Switzerland, and the teams at Théâtre Vidy-Lausanne!
