Research with artists of all styles and disciplines has become an integral part of the ensemble’s activities. Two-day encounters between the guest artists and small groups of Contrechamps members kick off the collaborations, establishing affinities and exploring possible approaches. When we come across a gem, we build on this shared experience to create a work that combines composition with the instrumentalists’ creativity into a unique, symbiotic whole.
