Working with just-intonation and the immersive placement of musicians, Chiyoko Szlavnics mixes instrumental sounds at the molecular level, creating a sort of suspended acoustic mobile. Kevin Juillerat’s trio of multi-harmonic instruments suffuses the structure’s acoustic volumes for an unbounded exploration of timbre. Last but not least, the cathedral lit up with Kalalumen’s many candles will see the premiere of the work of two composition students from the Geneva University of Music.
